a US WW2 Army HBT (herringbone twill) Long Bill Cap.
This pattern of cap came into issue with the US Army during the Second World War in 1944 and and saw widespread issue, replaced the short bill cap in 1944.

This one comes from a family in Nürnberg who cutt it off somewhere as the war ended
The banner has on one side the swastika original sewed and has a size of approx 152,5 x 73,5 cm.
